What is an elevator pitch? It’s a brief, persuasive speech that sparks interest in yourself that gets other people as excited (if not more) than you!
In this class, you’ll learn how to create an engaging pitch from scratch by asking the right questions and communicating your personal unique selling point (USP) whilst knowing your goals for a successful outcome. It may just get you that meeting or interview to get the job you’ve always wanted.
You’ll discover the best practices for anticipating your audience, preparing your narrative, and practicing your delivery.
- Develop a structured framework for preparing an engaging pitch.
- Understand what makes you unique to sell yourself to a potential employer and get a meeting
- Review and discuss different opportunities to use the elevator pitch.
- Incorporate and practice simple to follow rules for delivering effective pitches.

Johnathan’s role at General Assembly is twofold. He works closely with General Assembly students to prepare them for the workforce when they have finished their intensive courses in Web Development and User Experience Design. This includes career coaching, teaching them how to create amazing CV’s and LinkedIn Profiles that really stand out from the competition, how to succeed in interviews and any other career assistance in in order to give them the best outcome when they study with General Assembly.
Using his extensive experience in IT and Digital Recruitment, he partners up with IT and Digital companies that are looking to hire people with skills in web development and user experience design. He then provides them with free access to his talent pools and matches up their requirements with the graduate students.
